Presumably these people would decline a hospital admission, if they were unfortunate enough to get Covid, and became seriously ill?

Wales and priority 2, Mum gets her vaccination next week. This will make me feel a little better as I'm aware that if she caught Covid, it would most likely be from me.
Well I would assume but what I find amazing is that my friend has an elderly mother!

That's interesting, @nae sporran and may be true as a relative who is a carer and aged 74 has just had her vaccination, so before the over 80s.
I may only need to ask them to count the number of ambulances outside our hospital and ask them why they think they're there.

OHs carers who come from a care agency are being done this week coming, which Im very pleased about as OH is under 65 and with no diagnosis is down in level 7. The carers always come PPE'ed up and are very careful about hand hygeine, but it will be extra security.
We have heard nothing about a vaccination for dad, he's diabetic and a heart attack not too long ago. It does seem a bit of a postcode lottery with regards to how quickly people are getting the jab. His sister, who is healthy and sprite for her age got her first dose last week, but lives in another County.
Dad is pretty much bedbound now, so hes not going out anywhere, so he's safe. I can probably get him there in his wheelchair if it's not too far. If we havent heard anything by the middle of February I will chase it.

its probably because hes housebound and the pfizer one was impossible to carry around as it had to be -70 so probably waiting for the 0xford one that can be transported. i will have to wait longer because they have to come to me. my husband is 72 but clinically extremely vulnerable probably wont get it till middle of february and im after that.
Thats interesting about carers under 65 being category 6. But would you have to be registered somehow? Eg I go in to do personal care for dad twice a day but this isn't noted on any govt list, I have never applied for any kind of carers allowance. The GP knows it informally as every time any medical person asks about dads care I tell them. So will I not qualify because I cant show it on paper?
ive registered at the gp practice. i dont get carers allowance either. its says if you care for a person who would be at risk if you had to stop caring for them due to catching covid

Dad is completely immobile and doubly incontinent and so it takes me and mum to look after him every day. He would definitely be in some kind of risk if I were knocked out by covid.

I’m 72 but have been asked to go for the covid jab. But I can’t for three weeks cos I’ve just started taking some blood thinners. How annoying is that?
And please remember that having the jad does not mean one is free to go out and meet people. One has to wait at least three weeks post jab

I've just managed to do an online form to register as a carer at my GP - I hope they don't think I'm scamming them because of the timing! 
Or I hope I haven't done it so late I miss out on any letters being sent out in future. Oh well, we'll see. Thanks for the heads up everyone!
@Spamar - oof, that IS annoying! Noted, I am too busy caring for dad to do much socialising anyway haha (sigh).
I'm worried about COVID knocking me out, yes, but I don't know if you saw one of my previous posts, my 70 year old mum has become a raging anti-vaxxer thanks to some ridiculous YouTube videos and she is refusing to get the jab for her or my dad. I'm hoping that if I get it it will convince her that I haven't turned into a lizard or whatever, and also, though there is no knowledge yet of whether you are more protected in passing on the virus once you're vaccinated, it can't hurt for me to be less sneezy/coughy around them.
