Hi everyone,

Our NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC) volunteer group supports people who need help to challenge a decision that they are ineligible for CHC funding.

Although most people pay something towards their care, CHC is a complete package of care arranged and funded solely by the NHS. However, the assessment process is complex and daunting, and people with dementia are often found ineligible.

Volunteer roles

We are looking for volunteers who can work from home and support people by email and phone.

We are also looking for one volunteer to talk to people who contact us for help before referring them to the group. This person will be based in our central London office.

All volunteers will need experience and understanding of the CHC process. They must be able to support vulnerable people who are trying to deal with a bewildering system. We provide support for all volunteers.

To find out more

Email nhscc@alzheimers.org.uk about volunteering from home for the wider group and for details of the office-based role. Applications by Friday 7th October.

Thanks,
