I don't know whether residents in my mum's care home are allowed to have pets, because my mum isn't a big animal fan. However, she loves my dog, and he's very welcome there. Also, staff bring in their own pets. My dog has been the one character my mum's remembered the name of, since she moved into the home in April 2015. I think it would be awful if people in care homes weren't able to interact with animals, if that's what they would like.
