Hi, finally got up the courage to do something. My wonderful wife is 59, has had noticeable memory issues for approx 2 years. Have consulted gp, test went badly, then had home visit, more relaxed, scored well, approx 18 months ago. However it is obvious short term important functional memory not working correctly. She seems to be through the menopause. she doesn't Want to discuss it or for me to discuss it with others but now friends and family are talking about it anyway. Raising it to ask for investigation causes major rows. She is scared as both her parents had dementia and she saw what happened. They both died in 80s after long decline. She has had bowel surgery which hasn't gone well and results in stress and sleep deprivation but I don't think that would cause this much memory issues. Help ..

Welcome to TP @Perdid0
Menopause, surgery & lack of sleep can cause memory problems but if you & others are really worried I’d contact the GP again.
Please keep posting as you’ll get lots of support here.
