I need to find my 'product key' to prove that I have a genuine copy of Windows XP. It is 25 characters long. I can see it on the actual computer but can't read it properly. Is there any where in the computer that I will be able to see it ie control panel or something like that?

Otherwise I will have to wait until I get new glasses!

It depends on the version of Windows you are using - this article gives a good overview.

With XP I'm afraid not without using specialised "hacker" tools to decode it from within XP. Article about it here

I would be very wary of downloading software from any kind of hacking site. If you could find a copy of one of these tools that is official software it would be OK.

All of this assume you do have a licenced copy in the first place....

PM me if you have any questions

When I post a message or start a new thread and if I've made a spelling mistake and try to correct it, or go back to add something, Why is it that I have to type the whole thing again, because, the following letter is deleted and then the next and so on? So therefore I have to redo the post from the correction,

I just press the edit button to correct it! bottom right hand corrner of this page next to Quote

every thing above sounds so complicated
