My mum has advanced mixed dementia and is now experiencing urinary incontinence. She will not change her clothes or allow herself to be washed. The situation is getting quite desperate. I'm looking for any advice as to what people have done in a similar situation. We've tried all the usual advice about routines etc. The GP says he would not sedate her so we can wash her.

Has anyone been in the same situation?
    Many thanks.

The only thing is they dress her in the morning then come back at dinner but as soon as they leave she gets undressed and puts her nighty on ! At 12 dinnertime ! No one can stop her she just won't stay dressed good luck x

I used a carer in the morning to get all personal stuff sorted - it worked well, my Mum liked her very much and she was my angel
