My wife who has advanced Alzheimer's is unable to communicate except by actions or impressions. We have Carers and they have said she can sometimes act aggressively but I think it could be frustration with not being able to tell them what she wants or to change how they are dealing with her, especially when personal care such as washing is involved. I can sometimes interpret her feelings from her expressions but not always. She has been prescribed haloperidol for nausea but there seems to be some confusion whether the drug is also to combat anxiety. It would be interesting to know if others have used this medication. Also any tips for communication problems.

Could flash cards work?
Is she able to point/indicate on a word or picture Which could be on a card? Or simple YES or NO cards/questions?
Can she follow any instruction? If you want x walk to y?

I dont have any experience of haloperidol, but I have heard of it being used for anxiety.
Maybe its a two birds with one stone situation?
