Can anyone advise how to get my mum to clean her teeth, she will not brush her teeth and says it hurts her if I try to brush them for her.
Any advice gratefully received

I don't really have any advice either but could you get her to the dentist? Do you think she could actually be in pain? Or is this an impossible feat? Chewing gum? Mouthwash?

Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

I don't know if its true, but have been told that a small piece of cheese alters the mouth acid balance and can help prevent tartar. Not going to stop decay but might help the breath.

In my experience stopping teeth cleaning is one of the first self care items that failed. I find that simply loading the toothbrush and offering it with a friendly prompt worked wonders. afterwards put the brush and paste in a hidden location so you dont have to go looking for it when its moved.

Hi heidicat,

There was a thread on teeth cleaning very recently, but I can't find it just now, can't be too far back though as I read it only yesterday I think. Hope you can find it.
