Tonight will be the second Clap for Carers at 8pm. As well as applauding all NHS workers, Care home staff, community carers, shop workers, delivery workers, council workers, volunteers, everyone who is continuing to work through this difficult time I will be thinking of the army of unpaid carers who continue to tirelessly support our loved ones living with dementia at home. We are all doing our best to maintain our loved ones at home and thereby reducing the pressure on the health services. I don't hear us mentioned in tv and newspaper reports!

Here! Here! When I was a carer I felt isolated at times and before dad went into the home my independence was slipping away.

I also spent a year as an unpaid carer.

We were out clapping for all of the key workers. Across Scotland pipers we’re out piping Scotland the Brave I honour of all those doing so much for us.
