Choosing a care home

My Mum has Altzeimers and has recently deteriorated quickly. Can anyone give me any advise on the best way to choose a care home.

keep in mind that a home can seem like a lovely hotel but what really matters is the care the staff provides

if your mum will be self-funding ie has savings well above £23250 and a good level of income to cover the care fees, you can go ahead and make arrangements you see fit

if your mum will need the Local Authority to contribute to the care fees (savings below £23250 and income that does not cover the whole of the fee), then the LA will need to carry out a care needs assessment and a financial assessment
