The guilt monster - dealing with guilt when caring for a person with dementia

Caring isn't easy - so many discussions on Talking Point describe how difficult dementia can be. This can be all the more difficult to deal with when carers and relatives feel guilty.

If you missed our discussion about dealing with guilt, the transcript is now available to view and download below:

Christmas can be wonderful, but it can also be a stressful and worrying time for people with dementia and their carers. There are many things to consider - decorations, visits, food and drink, choosing gifts. How can families adapt their festive traditions and routines so that people with dementia are considered?

With this in mind, we recently held a Q&A on Christmas and dementia with Emma from our helpline.

If you'd like to catch up, you can download and read it below:

The new Care Act 2014 is the biggest change to the care system in the last sixty years, replacing or updating around thirty pieces of existing legislation. It touches everything from how you pay for care at home and in residential care to carers rights, financial assessments, deferred payment schemes and more.

Tina, one of our Knowledge Officers answered your questions on the Act back in November.

You can catch up with our transcript, just read and download the file below.
