Carers allowance and pension

Am I not allowed to take money from a private pension with Carer's allowance?

Advice appreciated.

You may take income from a private pension as it is not an earned benefit, CA is taxable so you should inform HMRC.
DWP pension is treated differently as an overlapping benefit.

I received a company pension as well as carers allowance a couple of years ago. I wasn't old enough for the state pension at the time . Because my company pension was taxable, I paid slightly more tax because I was receiving a taxable benefit
