Care homes which also take partners of Alzheimer's sufferers

Has anyone got any knowledge or experience of care homes who will take the partners of Alzheimer's sufferers? My mother has Alzheimer's + is approaching that time when a care home will be needed, but she + her partner want to stay together. Due to trauma as a very young child, my mother fears institutions with a passion + desperately wants to stay with her partner, who similarly feels the same.

I would really just like to know if this concept exists! I have had very little luck so far.

I guess if you are self-funding, you could book yourself into a care home, dementia or no dementia, though whether you'd be able to stay in a dementia wing together is a different matter. Have you thought about sheltered housing or the like?

Hi there. The home my mum is in is an ordinary care home but with a dementia wing. My mum is in the dementia wing and my dad is in another ordinary home a few miles away. If there was an available room, he would be able to move to mum's home but they wouldn't be in the same room together as my mum needs more specialist care and would wander off in the night. I think they would just be able to spend time together every day. The home my mum is in has three couples who live this way apparently.
