Care homes in Gloucestershire - recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommnedations for care homes in Gloucestershire? We are not quite there yet with my 90 year old dad who I think is probably about stage 4 A/D but I am trying to get all the info I can together for all eventualities. It's my 83 year old mum I am really worried about trying to cope.

They live in the Forest of Dean currently. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Your local Social Services should have a leaflet/brochure listing all the care homes in your region It may well be worth calling in to them. In our county they were listed into residential/specialist care/nursing and until the time comes you will not be too sure what your Father's needs will require. It is always worth calling in to get a 'feel' of any prospective home. I personally advise calling unannounced so that you get the true picture. The home my husband went to did not object to me calling and I always felt the atmosphere was warm and friendly.
