Welcome to the forum @Rich1 You'll no doubt find lots of local care agencies by doing an internet search - some with reviews - but potentially the best place to start is to contact the local authority social services team to ask if they can suggest any reputable care agencies. Is your mother in a position to pay for carers herself? You can request a care needs assessment from social services and they will assess your mum to establish the level of support that she needs and if your mum needs help in funding the carer they conduct a financial assessment. If funding is not an issue (maybe not going by your forum name? :) ) then probably just best to ring round local care agencies and find out more about the type of help they can provide, their experience of dealing with dementia customers, level of training provided to staff, availability, costs etc. Members here aren't able to make recommendations for specific care agencies but hopefully you will find one in York that suits your requirements.

Hello Rich, good luck in your search. Adult Social Services should have lots of information and booklets on carers available locally .
