Mum is currently in a residential care home with quite advanced Alzheimers. She is self funding and has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. The care home have said she won't have to move as they can provide nursing care but I would imagine it will cost alot more. Is Mum entitled to any financial help now she has a cancer diagnosis?

My understanding is that if nursing care is needed it is the responsibility of the NHS to fund it. There are various ways in which this can be done. You need to ask about this. Your mum's GP should be able to help you and you should also call the AS helpline:
