Hi everyone,

The first survey of 2022 from our Dementia Voice team is here!

What's the survey about?

In 2019, the Dementia Voice team had been working with the Department of Health and Social Care on developing the new dementia strategy, including running an engagement exercise with people living with dementia and their carers. However, due to the pandemic this work was put on hold in 2020.

Work was resumed on the dementia strategy in summer 2021. It was agreed that the new strategy should focus on the following three themes:
  • Improving the experience of being diagnosed and living with dementia
  • Preventing future cases of dementia
  • Championing participation and innovation in research
At the end of October 2021, groups were set up for each of these themes to identify some proposed commitments under each of them. People with lived experience of dementia were involved in each of the groups.

What's the purpose of the survey?

The purpose is to get wider feedback on these proposals, as well as an opportunity to ask you questions about your exepriences in each of the three key areas being looked at.

It’s a little different than the Dementia Voice team's usual surveys and will take a bit longer, so get a drink of your choice, get comfortable and let us know what you think :)

This is an ongoing piece of work with the Department of Health and Social Care, so we will keep you updated.
