then as my husband was getting worse our gp said i think you should be rerrered to a dementia specialist
to start with he said he thought it was Alzhiemers now 2 years on and loads of tests he is saying nothing is showing for Dementia and my husband is down as CMI i think this means some sort of memory impairment

theres a lol more but stumbling across tp has made me feel i am not alone

Hiya Bel,
No need to apologise; I think the first post is the hardest one to make; then you find out that we're all pretty daft on here, make lots of mistakes, help one another when we can, annoy each other occasionally, but all are here because we love someone with memory problems, and we all feel we cope better by being able to share. So welcome, good to 'meet' you!
Best wishes Amy

Me again Bel
you have got two threads going now, (don't worry, often happens), if you want to reply, click on the blue 'post reply' button at the bottom of a posting.

Ken, you are a brilliant person and you have my utmost respect (Ken's talked to us on the other thread if you are wondering why I am saying this). I hope that if I ever develop an illness I can show your strength. Thank you for being here.
Love Amy

Hiya again Bel,
So how is your husband doing? And what about you? My mum is in advanced stages of dementia, and in January we had to place her in a Nursing Home full time, because my dad could just not cope any longer. It is close to where he lives, so easy for visiting on a daily basis.
That's a bit about me.

That's OK Bel,
I'm here, and ready to listen. Take things at your own pace. I'll pass on your thanks to the others.
Would you like me to tell you a little about them, they won't mind, because they post on other threads.
Norman is 79, and looking after his wife Peg at home. He keeps a lot of us going, with his motto Day by Day - stops us looking too far ahead. Can pull some very strange faces (I've seen pictures on other threads).
Ken has dementia; I can't remember how long he has been diagnosed. He helps us to understand things from a different point of view. His strength and courage, and determination, are a great inspiration. Connie looks after her husband Lionel; Lionel has early onset dementia - Connie is great for sending hugs when you really need them.

So when you are ready Bel, talk to me. I am 45, my mum is 74 now. She first showed signs of dementia in her mid to late 50's.

Love Amy

bel dear, thanks appreciated but really not necessary. This is a mutual forum, and we are here to help and advise each other.

Please take as much time as you need to tell your story, or just post replies to other threads along the lines of "In our case..................) sometimes that is easier.

No pressure here, and congrats on mastering the computer. Well done.

Hi bel

I have not been on TP for Long as well , its hard at first to pure it all out in what your feeling in one go, for me it was embarrassing & felt oh no what have I done  but the response from every one on TP was so amazingly understanding ,it was relief, as the saying go a problem aired is a problem shared.
