In a separate announcement, David Cameron will today pledge £150million to help fight dementia.
Britain’s first national Dementia Research Institute will open by 2020, tasked with developing diagnostic tests to stop conditions such as Alzheimer’s before they strike, and treatments to tackle the disease’s progression.
