This isn't really dementia-related but I'd be grateful if anyone can recommend some shoes for mum now that a combination of swollen feet and bunions are giving her a lot of discomfort. The trouble is that she insists on wearing only the shoes she already has with her in the home, which she describes as "a nice court shoe" and which press very tightly on the toes and the bunions, causing constant sore spots and infections as well as swelling whenever she tries to walk any distance (she uses a rollator). I've tried to get her to consider some specialist shoes for bunions or even just a comfortable canvas espadrille but she looks askance at anything that smacks of "old lady".
Has anyone found a workable solution that would make her feet less painful and still look elegant ?
