Mum is still in hospital after her fall in shower at her nursing home on the 19th December, they
have said that she had 2 carers with her at the time  She had her op on 21st quickly
followed by very low blood pressure and life threatening anaemia which delayed them getting her
out of bed. On Christmas day they managed to get her up and she stood holding a frame for a few
seconds, due to the holidays physio have not been around to get her up and when we went in on
Tuesday she was slumped in a chair, could not understand anything she was saying, she had no movement in her arm or leg and her mouth had dropped on one side. The nurse was quick acting once she knew, but god alone knows how long she would have been there if we had not gone in. The upshot seems to be a TIA which to our knowledge is the first.

Yesterday she had a pressure sore on her heel they had dressed and had a pressure mattress delivered but had not had time to get her on it!. This morning we have had a call to say her wound is infected and she has to go back down for another op under general:eek:

Her nursing home (EMI unit) for which she is self funded has not been in touch at all. We phoned to let them know she had had the op but have heard nothing since, is this normal? we have had no explanation as to what happened, am I expecting too much?
