I finally got my Dad to go and look at a nursing home which was recommended as being very good. My Mum is still in hospital at the moment but he has now put her name down on the waiting list. What impressed him more than anything and which I thought was pretty good too, was the fact that they have movement sensors on the ceiling above the beds where an alarm will sound if Mum tries to get up. It is also only 15 minutes or so on the bus away from Dad so he can go anytime he likes.

I've also decided I'm going to the Care Commission about the previous home she was in when Dad was in hospital, if only to save the same thing happening to someone else.

Thanks once again for listening.

Good for all of you

Glad things are moving ahead. It must have been very hard for your Dad to put your Mum's name down. The home being only 15 minutes by bus from your Dad will also be a godsend.

However hard it was for your father to put your mother`s name down, I can imagine things like the sensors made him realize how `on guard` he has had to be at all times.

I truly hope it all works out well. The proximity is a bonus.
