Breaking the news (morbid thoughts)

My sister lives in Australia and had to cancel her trip over to see our father due to the virus. She's adamant that he's not going to live for long (although I suspect he'll keep going for quite some time) but when the time does come, does anyone have experience of how to break the news? Email? Skype? Sorry to be so moribund but we all know it's inevitable...

How do you normally communicate, perhaps that is the best way to go. You could break it gently with an email saying your father has taken a turn for the worse and then follow it up with a skype call to say he has now passed away.
Let's hope he lives for long enough for this crisis to be over and your sister to visit.

That sounds like a good compromise. She's hopefully coming over for Christmas and by then we will hopefully have him in an annexe so he won't have to do stairs. He's not having a great day today
