Hello from me also, @elisebean23. It was brave and honest of you to tell us about the sectioning and you are right, hearing about your experience will be helpful to someone, so thank you for that.

My dad was sectioned on a section 2 a week ago after a disastrous few days in a care home (aggression, attempts to escape, inappropriate behaviour). He's currently falling a lot as he is still trying to get out of the secure unit, and is hardly eating.

What is tearing my mum (who was his carer) apart is not knowing what happens in 28 days (hopefully a section 3 as there is no way he can go home to her) plus feelings of guilt in 'abandoning' him after a 50+ year marriage.

He's coming up to 87 and physically strong despite apparent frailty when you look at him. I'm 300 miles away at the end of a phone but this has happened so quickly and we are all heartbroken.
