Bathing aids

Hello there,

My mother, 87, has now realised she needs help getting in and out of the bath. She quite likes the idea of the inflatable chair.
I am asking if anyone has experience of using one of these, and it's suitability for a elderly person with limited reasoning? Are they simple to use? And are they removable? Haha mother doesn't want any "aids" on show
Many thanks

Dunlin - I would suggest making an appointment with an Occupational Therapist (probably via GP) who can advise about these kind of aids. That way, they can visit and assess her home and her ability to use aids safely and effectively. Not sure about costs, but having an OT assessment may help avoid expensive mistakes.

Yes, speak to the OT. They provided a chair for Mum which went into the bath and rose up and down - much safer than an 'inflatable' seat and it could be easily removed if necessary.

Thanks, I had forgotten about using an OT
I'm not sure she would agree to letting one in over the door, but I could try!
Thanks for advice
