Attendance allowance

Does anybody know how you apply for attendance allowance? Do you have to wait 6 months before you apply?

It's been a while, but we were advised to apply for the higher rate after my partner had to have care support workers in following a seizure. We got help from a local debt and welfare advice service.

Attendance Allowance is based on the care needs of the applicant (not means tested) and not on a particular diagnosis ... and if the person qualifies, it is granted 6 months after the need is evident ... so you can apply but the AA may not be paid immediately
have a look at the documents to see what type of questions are asked
