Hi all :)

My mum has early-onset Alzheimer's, and I was thinking about getting her a tablet.

She likes to read (although I don't know if she's really still capable of actually reading a book anymore, because of her memory), do crosswords and jigsaws and other puzzles and things. She also loves music.

She's never been one for computers or gadgets, so I don't know how well she'd do with a tablet.

Does anyone have any experience of the Amazon Fire tablets? I had thought about trying one of those, rather than diving straight in with an iPad.

Can you get useful apps for dementia sufferers for them, or is everything iOS only?

Hi and welcome to TP

My mom used to play solitaire on computer. But she was dependent of a step-by-stem 'manual'. If a icon had changed place she couldn't play.

If I had a tablet I could have used it with her. It is lighter and can have cards games.
