I heard on the news that Monday is National Alzheimers Day.

i wish it was dementia day rather than alzheimers day when there are so many different dementias that it feels like being left out but i know its alz.soc. but it encompasses vascular lewy bodies etc which are not so well known but cause just as much suffering.

Actually I think @jennifer1967 is right before dad showed Alzheimers symptoms I
had only heard of Alzheimers and vascular dementia.

I lost count of how many times I was asked if dad had alzheimers or dementia but then again I suppose I was just as ignorant before dad started showing signs

there is an extra thought if alz. soc. encompasses all dementias should it change its name as well to be inclusive?
