relatives can be such hard work. My sister in law lives in USA and on her annual visit to the UK my MIL can often act normally for a few days and on her last visit my SIL could not understand how frazzled we were. This visit has been different -3 practice nurse appointments, one trip to hospital for blood tests, one specialist outpatient appointment and one GP appointment in a 10 day period. MIL smelly, agreed to bath then refused after SIL had got it ready. I know I shouldn't but REALLY feel like laughing.

No no seriously laugh away.... it’s quicker & more effective at relieving stress!
I’d love to have been a fly on the wall so to speak!
why do some people have to experience things to believe it?
hey I’ve never seen a million pounds but I sure as heck know it exists & is real!
really does say a lot about your SIL character!
????
You made me giggle when I read your post

Hi @DesperateofDevon you'll never believe what the USA idiot has done today. MIL - specialist appointment 12.30. Hubby arrives 12.20 at hospital to see SIL in cafe que. He thinks they're just getting a coffee to take to the appointment. No she's only gone and ordered lunch for herself and MIL. Hubby had to go to the clinic sans SIL and MIL to let staff know she was in the hospital. SIL sauntered in 25 minutes past the appointment time (for the last am appointment). Nursing staff all gone to lunch and specialist seriously unhappy. Her only reply to hubby was that 'well clinics always run late'. She has no comprehension that if this was not a cancer appointment the consultant would have classed this as a missed appointment and the hospital policy is to discharge after a non attendance.
Hubby has now retired to help me care for his mum and my parents, his comment today " I had no idea before I retired how disruptive my sisters visits are" . It seems like the whole side of his family need to experience things to believe it grrrr

I took a video of the bedtime routine to show my sister, who lives in Australia. Nothing graphic, just showing how much help he needs getting into bed. I might take another one at some point to compare the difference. She hasn't commented and I know she must feel helpless but I wanted her to not only see that he is well looked after but that getting him to the stage where he is interactive and lucid on Skype takes some work.

What a first class ( please insert word /s of your choice here!) SIL is. It’s the arrogance towards people that gets me every time!
I’m angry on your behalf, but sadly as the saying goes “there is no cure for stupid!”
(((Hugs)))

Sorry your MiL's appointment was nearly cancelled due to inconsiderate family @silkiest. After all that activity and worry you must all be tired out as well.
