Afraid of violence

My husband is starting to get vascular dementia. He has seen a heart specialist who says that a valve is not working so not enough blood is getting to his brain. He wont operate.
At times my husband gets very angry and I am afraid of him. My GP says that he will calm down and I must be careful. It is like walking on eggs. He kicked the dog to death. How do I cope with this?

Hello

You should not have to live in fear of such violence. It is unacceptable, no matter how sick your husband is.

Please keep a diary of his behaviours and send or give it to your husband`s doctor. Does the doctor know your husband kicked the dog to death?

with love xx

Dear ringtor

He kicked the dog to death. How do I cope with this?

This is horrific and it's no wonder you are afraid of the violence. I feel that under the above circumstances the GP is trivialising the reality of what can happen and your husband needs to have an assessment with regard to possible medication to calm him down.

I am so sorry that you are having to experience this but you have a definite right to feel safe and this matter needs sorting.

Love
