1. Expert Q&A: Living well as a carer - Weds 28 August, 3-4pm

As a carer for a person living with dementia, the needs of the person you care for will often come before your own. You may experience a range of difficult emotions and you may not have the time to do all the things you need to do. Caring can have a big impact on both your mental and physical health, as well as your overall wellbeing.

Angelo, our Knowledge Officer (Wellbeing) is our expert on this topic. He will be here to answer your questions on Wednesday 28 August between 3-4pm.

You can either post questions >here< or email them to us at talkingpoint@alzheimers.org.uk and we'll answer as many as we can on the day.

    hi,

I’m 25 years old and my memory is now starting to affect my life. I can’t even remember if I’ve had breakfast or if so what I’ve had. I’m now missing important appointments that I’ve been talking about for weeks and even that same day then all of a sudden it’s my memory just blanks out and I carry on with my day as if there’s nowhere I’ve to be. So concerning. Don’t know whether to go see the doc about it as I feel stupid with me being so young!! Feel frustrated I had no control over myself and my forgetfulness

Hi @Gemmaxxx xxx If you are worried about it enough to post on here I would say that you should go to see your GP. Don't feel stupid, just explain your concerns to the doctor. They are there to help you. Best wishes.

Hello @Gemmaxxx welcome to the forum I’m sure the support you will get will be helpful
There is a range of medical conditions that can cause memory problems so a visit to the GP seems an ideal starting point.
Now you have found us I hope you will continue to post
