Abbreviations List and Dementia Talking Point Jargon

    Added Enhanced Day Care/Centre - I hope it isn't specific to my own local authority, but I've come across it in the paperwork for the centre Mother is, if all goes well, going to start at tomorrow. Fingers crossed that she agrees to get on the minibus!

    I think it means "can cope with dementia patients".

    Spotted SPECT scan in a recent thread - now added as Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) scan, after a bit of googling. Pam

    I do thank you Pam for being so vigilant.

    I too saw Dx but it didn`t occur to me to add it to the list. You must have a very efficient mind. :)

    Mind you, PICU also means pediatric intensive care unit.
