I hope tomorrow brings better weather but enjoy even in the rain. I have a friend who lives on the SW coast of Ireland and it rains often... sweeping in off the sea.

Hopefully I'll be able to post some more photos. Thanks for asking.

Tomorrow I think we are going to the Dingle Peninsula and then to a Heritage Centre.

We are all shattered and I'm talked out, so even though it`s so early I'm set for a quiet evening with my kindle

Ooh, lovely photos! How nice that you hav internet connection. I have never been to Ireland, so seeing your photos will be lovely. I though the drink was a Guinness till I read the caption! I wondered what the stuff on top was!!
Likewise. I thought that is some stout beer!!!

Oh I love the horse drawn transport! Lovely photos, thanks for sharing Sylvia. I've always wanted to go to Ireland, and my mother's father was born there then the family came to Scotland when he was a young boy.

No graffiti or litter is a sight for sore eyes. I remember in Paris being horrified by such widespread graffiti on such beautiful buildings.

The company must be good when you are talked out! Have a lovely time and hopefully the weather improves for you.
Loo xx

I've been to Ireland twice the second time to Dingle, there is some beautiful places to see. I hope the weather improves for you Sylvia and your next photos show blue skies.

Dingle and the peninsula lived up to expectations and the weather was glorious. My photos are not good enough to post , mainly sea and mountains but not close enough to see how spectacular they were.

We were shattered last night.

I forgot to tell you about the Citizenship Ceremany on Monday in Kilkenny. Traffic was at a standstill because 2800 refugees were being granted citizenship. I would loved to have been able to be an onlooker.

Off to pastures new today, a castle and village. Tonight we are going to an Irish music and dance evening .

Take care everyone.

Good morning folks.

We had a super day yesterday, beginning with a drive to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Very touristy but interesting just the same. Some brave stalwarts climbed to the top but my knees decided against it.

We decided on afternoon tea instead

While we were eating we were serenaded

We strolled around the folk village and ended up in the village pub

Those who know me will know the truth of this photo.

In the evening the Celtic Steps lived up to their reputation and gave us a lovely night of music and dance.

Back to the hotel and tucked up in bed by midnight. My body doesn’t know what hit it

And have your u found Guinness tastes different over there? I don’t touch it here, but over there, it’s quite good. Or was it the mood we were all in?

strong stuff that @Grannie G, never had it myself because my Dad always said it was made with crushed black beetles and Water from the Liffey. I believed him because in my childhood there were always Guinness Ships moored up on quay in Dublin.

Ooh, I’m glad you can see an improvement already. Isn’t it lovely that @Slugsta is on the forum? We have a really useful range of members don’t we? My dad was diagnosed with asthma in his 70’s, and now Slugsta has told us why that might be. I too, thought it was a life long condition.

Thank you for your kind words  but don't forget that I have now been retired for 8 years and thinking might have changed a lot in that time.

Oooo-er Sylvia! A secret Guinness drinker!!! I do like Guinness. I agree that it tastes different over there but I'm not averse to a half pint here! Bill and I visited the Guinness factory in Dublin. He too liked a Guinness!:D

Seriously though - lovely photos. I'm glad you're having such a good time.

Ah, Sylvia! That's where I took mum last year for her birthday. Bunratty. She couldn't get into the castle though, as it's not disabled friendly! She did make it all around the park though, and loved it, although it was early April, and bitterly cold!
I'm thinking you must mean that you were in Killarney, and not Kilkenny? Kilkenny is on this side of the country, just about 45 minutes from me.

I got a taste for Guinness after having my first child and then getting badly anaemic - my GP and midwife both advised me to drink it regularly! Purely medicinal, of course - but I am not sure that it would be in keeping with today's medical advice! :D

I think the worst moment was when I accidentally knocked over a pint of Guinness on the front room carpet. Despite scrubbing for all I was worth the place smelled like a brewery for a week. A fine impression to give visitors visiting a new mum with babe in arms!

Oh my goodness!!!! I can imagine your visitors' faces when they smelled it! In my youth I once knocked a pint of Guinness over a chap's cream linen trousers!
