Hello everyone!

I have had experiences with dementia from loved ones but never someone a close as a partner.

As part of a project for University involving raising awareness about dementia. I have a few questions which would be very beneficial for my project. This place felt like a good and informative way of doing so.

Please don't worry if you don't want to answer some of these questions:

Name? (first name is great)

When did you find out your partner had dementia?

How did it initially feel to find that out?

Where did you go for support? Any organisations or charities?

What is day to day life like now?

Do you wish received more support? If so, what ways do you want to be supported?

I really appreciate if any of you can answer these. Thank you so much.
Hope you all have a good day!

You can find out details of places like dementia cafes local to you by typing your post code here

I wonder if meeting people face to face in a relaxed social setting might be a good way to undertake this sort of research?

As for what day to day life is like, there are loads of threads in the 'I have a partner with dementia' part of the forum which should give you some further insight.
