    Christmas reminiscence box

I had this idea after going on the chat room a couple of days ago

Perhaps a reminiscence box with things to do with past christmases would help some people

The sort of things I would put in it would be

a brazil nut, and old sock (clean!!! an satsuma or whatever you had in a stocking at Christmas

Smelly things like old spice aftershave (I got my dad that for Christmas when I was little!) Chanel no5 something that smells like mulled wine a fresh mince pie

White Christmas DVD or a favourite christmas film

A CD of the Hallelujah Chorus, christmas carols

    A letter to santa

Something that you had as a christmas present I have an red and white spotted enamel mug

    cookery book

    Christmas Tree bauble Christmas Cracker

    Old Christmas photo

I just thought it might be nice to have a seasonal box as something different to talk about and engage in

Sarah what a lovely idea, especially for a day centre or to take to someone in a CH and give something to talk about and encourage others to join in as well,

Dad has a memory box with photos of different members of family he knows, photos of bowling trophies. I have written on the back who's who then laminated. A penguin because he remembers seeing the penguins on the beach when he visited Australia, Yorkie and malteser wrappers as they were his favourite chocolate and other bits and pieces that mean something to him.

Can have a calming affect and day centre loves it.

What a wonderful idea. Its is something I could start now and add to over the next couple of years. I will try talking about Christmas in the car and get some ideas. He has no sense of smell so it is more visual and touch that would work for hubby. Thanks Sarah
