    What's happened to the expert's Q&As?

Hi. I just wondered if there were any plans to hold another expert Q&As? It appears that the last one was over a year ago! Thanks.

Hi, another fellow sufferer caring for a sufferer here.

I give my dad banana porridge with lots of milk for breakfast most days. He has cancer of the oesophagus and so eating is difficult for him, but he manages the porridge really well. Good luck.

    Slipping through the net

Thank you very much for your response and supportive message - it sounds as though you had a very similar situation with your dad, albeit without the coronavirus pandemic! It would be great to message privately, as I don't have a clue how the cancer is going to play out. Do we message via email...

    Slipping through the net

Hi. My dad has mid-stage (I think!) dementia, emphysema and terminal cancer of the oesophagus. I have moved in with him since the virus pandemic, but am seriously finding it hard to cope. I feel that because he has both cancer and dementia he is not getting help with either. I told his GP he...

    Financing Live-in care

Hi. I recently read on a care agency website that a person does not have to sell their house to finance their care if they have live-in care - is this true?

    Ideas needed to entertain him

My dad is a bit the same - not a 'day centre activity' or 'puzzle/games' type of person and loves the garden. I am fortunate in that he will go to a tea room and likes a walk, though he's not good in the cold either. It's this time of year that is the worst, but he takes a real pleasure in just...

    Toilet trouble

Thank you all for your replies and helpful advice. I think it was just a passing phase for now and, yes, a bit of constipation that confused matters more. I guess it's just inevitable that this issue will become more problematic as the condition advances! Good luck everyone. X

    Toilet trouble

Hi. I've just encountered a new problem I wanted to share in the hope that some of you may have some advice. My dad has mid-stage Alzheimer's and has been capable of using the toilet on his own. Recently I have noticed some soiling in his underpants and have now realised that he is getting...

    Q&A: Medication - Thurs 22nd November, 3-4pm

Hi. My question is about moving from Donepezil to another drug. My dad has been on 10mg Donepezil since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015. I was told that he should take this for the rest of his life, but am not sure if other drugs are available to him as he moves into the middle to later...

    Loss of ID - literally!

Hi, this is my first post and was just wondering if anyone has experienced any problems trying to prove the identity of their parent or loved one? Since my dad had his driving licence taken by the DVLA (he gave it up voluntarily) he no longer seems to have enough forms of ID (passport...
