Patilos poem
Verse 3. Composed in the doctors waiting room. Entertained the doctor with it. Made him smile.
The anger and delusions of a schizophrenic mind
Have been replaced with a person who's sweet and kind
Now we can smile and have a good laugh
Even though the conversation is a bit daft.
I'm teaching myself Spanish as I have so much time
You should see my mum in stitches as she searches for words that rhythm.
The guitar, when it comes out, is accompanied by a song
My mum is pitch perfect
X-factor wont be long
The dementia's at stage six with incontinence at night
It feels like the local laundry
It greets me when it's light.
No gym for me
The wheelchair keeps me fit
No sugar either
The diabetes does its bit.
So who am I to grumble
Healthy and fit.
Yes, count your blessings lady
Get on and do your bit.
Ok, so it's not perfect but I enjoyed making it up.
