Has your GP got cantabmobile ??????
A new test for older people to check for signs of Alzheimer’s is now available for GP’s
It is a ‘touch screen’ test and is claimed to be more reliable as an indicator
of memory problems
It is claimed that the equipment is now available (cost £1000)or £250 per annum fee

This site has a vidio included but the ‘you tube’ version is the same but

This does look very interesting. I was wondering at first about a touch screen but even if it only reaches 30% of people with dementia earlier, that's a huge improvement on what we currently have.

Hi Jimbo

I had suspected my Mum had Alzheimer's long before i took her to the GP, once there he carried out the apple, penny & table test and said there was nothing wrong (even though she didn't answer it correctly ), however, i knew he was wrong so took her back 3 times before they carried out the appropriate tests to confirm her diagnosis.
All in all we lost about 3 years.......... so if this helps then its better than the tests they have now so i think all GP surgeries should have one.
