If you can spare the time please spare a thought or say a prayer for the good folk in Queensland, Australia. First floods and now a vicious cyclone heading their way. I know we have members in that part of the world and I'm asking that they are kept safe from harm. I know I can ask you, because you all care. Thanks Maureen.

It sounds horrendous. I heard on the radio this morning a doctor from a hospital (now closed down and patients sent in land) saying he was now on the fourth floor of a hotel and the sky looked very stormy and a gale blowing already - cyclone was not expected for another four hours then. He said he was terrified. So my thoughts and prayers are certainly with the people in Australia. Lx

It's an awful time they're having in Australia, unthinkable for those of us who have not experienced it. Certainly love & prayers heading their way.
Love, Necion. xx

The people of Queensland, and that area of Australia, will be in my thoughts too.

It's just dreadful, and puts some of our own worries into perspective, doesn't it?

I send them all my best wishes and I hope they are all kept safe from harm. What a terrible time of recent for Queensland but they are a tough lot - they are Queenslanders!

I know no one in Queensland. Its bad enough worrying about those unknown to me but to have family there must be really distressing.

For those of you affected please let us know when you have heard from your family and friends.

Worried

My brother Dale lives in Queensland, just south of Brisbane.
They managed to avoid flood damage by virtue of being on slightly higher ground, but that won't protect them from cyclonic winds.

I've been trying to raise them on the phone for several days but all I get is the answer-phone :(.
From the news coverage I've been following, the main areas hit so far seem to be more northerly Queensland, but these damn things are unpredictable.

Here are some links to local (Australian local) news sources etc.
