Cannot agree with all that is said in the Americal articles.
Many dementia sufferers also put on weight.
They will prefer to eat sweet things in place of plain food, sweets biscuits etc.
My wife's favourites were ,hot cross buns and banana sandwiches.
I would add that I tried to provide finger food, but in the end I had to feed her.

Hi Norman

I have to agree with you on this one. Mum will eat any amount of cakes etc. but I have a hard time trying to get her to eat "sensible food". So much so that it was causing her dietry problems. Trying to hold back on the sweet stuff did not work too well and at times she would solidly refuse to eat anything. I am now giving her a Fortisip milk shake which contains some of the goodness that she is starting to miss out on. She has not refused a nice "milkshake" yet.
