Shingles

Mum was diagnosed with shingles Last week because of this my dad was not allowed to see her as he may catch it amd take it back with him to hospital were he at for rehab., I been with mum over the weekend and up hospital with her spent yesterday morning with her how long does it take to clear past the infection stage as I been with her a lot and not even catched them at all

You can't catch shingles, though if you've not had chickenpox you can develop that as it's the same virus. But only from contact with the blisters I believe so if you/Dad are careful I wouldn't have thought it was a big risk?
