Thank you everyone - life is pretty manic at the moment. The executor hasn’t managed to actually instruct the conveyancers even though he has sent them the documents they need. I can only do so much & I am getting frustrated as the end is in sight now.
The ex came back last week to get some of his other stuff with a police escort to keep the peace. Totally unnecessary. They left after a while as they saw everything was ok. A friend came round to be with me so all was well. He took a car load but there is still tons left. It is mainly rammel, nothing of much value so now it is sitting in the outhouse. Apparently he says he is collecting it on Friday. Ironic that that date was meant to be our projected wedding date when we got engaged over 2 yrs ago.

As more days go by, I know that is splitting up was the best outcome for me possible. It’s sad but this man does not deserve to have me in his life & I deserve better. I’m totally scared but also excited as now my life has to change a lot & i’m not quite sure how & what, it just has to xx

As to the bungalow, myself & the buyer are firm
friends now & she has been a godsend helping me clear out stuff. I got her a bottle of wine yesterday as a bit more of a thank you. I couldn’t do it without her. We did another stint yesterday & doing one tomorrow. I have a charity furniture clearance company collecting furniture on Sunday so we are really cracking on.
I’m going to chase the executor today to ensure that he is on top of his game as I really want the bungalow sale to complete in time. It doesn’t have to be concurrent with my purchase. I’m due to go to the solicitors this afternoon to get my paperwork sorted & pay some money in.

Oh my @Kikki21, I can't believe what you have been through. I've just got back after a weeks holiday with my other half and thought I'd catch up on here. I am really sorry to hear about your break-up, but it does sound like it could be the best thing for you. A new house and new life, onwards and upwards and I really hope it all works out for you.

It's good news about the Probate and that your house sale and purchase are going well. I have my fingers crossed for you that it all continues.

Take care.

Hi Kikki21 so sorry about your breakup but you are a strong and courageous person,do you think having lived with ad changes you as a person ,I think it has changed me and you definitely view things a lot differently. I have decided to put my house on the market bit scary as I love my house it's a chalet bungalow but would like out in the countryside ,but houses are quite expensive so it could be cheaper to build ,but could I cope with the stress lol and I also have four cats ,you have been through so much in such a short time Kikki21 I hope everything works out for you xxx

Hoping everything is well with you, @Kikki21, and that you are feeling okay.

Just to say that I'll be offline for a week or two, moving to our rented house in York.

Take care, and be kind to yourself. xxx

Love & best wishes,
Marcelle xxx

Hi everyone sorry I have been away for a bit & thank you for all the love & support you have given me.
The thing was my relationship with my ex had been over for months. My mum’s death just extended the inevitable break up & when he started lying to me, involving his son in our break up, trying to break my hand & the police then no he did me a massive favour by letting me go because every cloud has a silver lining & this one is just amazing.
I had one of those moments where I thought ok i’m 50 & i’m not getting any younger so I joined a well known dating app & before long was matched to someone. I matched with other people too but there was something about this particular man & so we talked on the app & then messaged & phoned for just over a week before we met on the 22nd July & we’ve not been apart much since!

He has been amazing as he has helped me so much with the bungalow & clearing it out - it just so happened that he was off on holiday from the 22nd July & doesn’t go back till the 9th August which is the proposed completion date for the bungalow. We ended up hiring a skip & he went to fill it at stupid o clock. We are very, very very similar as people, in fact I would say he is like my mirror image. And yes we are madly in love with each other.

I do believe that sometimes you have to go through the hardest times to find the light & i’m sure that he is my light. I’m happier than I have ever been for a very long time & the future looks very good. When you know, you just know. Xx

It has been a complete nightmare liasing with the executor & the team of selling solicitors have definitely delayed matters but hopefully we are now on track. The solicitors have the contracts.
My purchase is flying through but I wanted to push the completion date forward as we were looking at mid Sept & I want to be in there ASAP & not have to pay too much more rent here as that is just wasting money. Luke is itching to get into the house because he used to be a joiner/cabinet maker & one of the main things to do is to turn the kitchen & dining room into 1 room. We had a fun time walking round B&Q the other day. Yes we made B&Q fun!!!! I know it’s very early days but I know & he knows that both of us have met the one & I know my mum
agrees because the amount of feathers I had before I met Luke was extra ordinary. I asked so many questions & every time I was answered by feathers & since after the day we met, no more feathers. Xx

Hi, @Kikki21 - great to read your update, and your new man sounds lovely, but take care all the same, as is only prudent.
Best of luck with all the housing stuff too, and I do hope that Luke and you will be very happy together.
Love & best wishes, Marcelle xxx

Thank you @Marcelle123 we are extraordinarily happy with each other. I know I was happy with my ex in the beginning but it was soon replaced by feelings of unease & dread. I’ve just worked the entire weekend with Luke & no cross words have been spoken, everything is calm & stress free.
We have booked a holiday together for the end of October today & both of us are excited about going away together for the first time. Even though he is on holiday now & we are also having fun then he has also worked so hard in getting the bungalow sorted. We are hiring a van on Wednesday & doing runs to get stuff here, to the tip & to charity & then hopefully not much more will remain to do. We still hope completion sale for the bungalow will be this weekend but we think now it might be too short notice & that it will slip to the following weekend xx

We are still waiting for completion on the sale of our house, so I understand the frustration.

So glad you've found someone else and I wish you both every happiness.

Hoping that everything goes smoothly in your future life, @Kikki21 .

Hi @Marcelle123 how has your move to York gone? We are still awaiting a completion date for the sale of the bungalow, we had hoped it would be this weekend but things have slipped despite my best efforts & that of Diane the buyer. So it might be next weekend or it might slip to Sept 5th as she is on holiday from the 24th Aug. We are still hoping we might get it through next weekend fingers crossed.

So basically Luke has moved in with me now & we have booked our first holiday abroad together at the end of October. We can’t wait. He has simply been amazing with the clearance of the bungalow. I don’t know how I would have done it all without him. We hired a van out yesterday & did 2 tip runs, 1 charity shop run & a run out to here & the bungalow is empty bar about half of my mum’s sewing room & the hallway cupboard. It’s amazing how much we have shifted together & not one cross word has been uttered between us. It’s been a blissful nearly 3 weeks & now the next phase of our relationship will begin as he is back to work tomorrow xx

We have a nice house to rent & love being in York. But we still have not completed on our sale, which I am finding stressful.
(Edit: It's affecting my sleep, which is why I posted this in the middle of the night.)

I have now decided to try and stay off the internet, which will mean that I stop posting on Talking Point for a while, to preserve my peace of mind.

I am glad that you have found someone new, but do take care & take things one step at a time - you are such a lovely, warm person and I would hate for you to be hurt and let down again.

I hope that won't happen and that everything will work out for you & I wish you every happiness in the future.

I very much appreciate all the posts we have exchanged, and our online friendship.

Farewell for the moment, and stay well.

Love,
Marcelle xx

Ah thank you @Marcelle123 you are such a kind & lovely person yourself & do hope you will come back on here & post soon. I’m so happy you love York. I hope to visit very soon!
Luke is like a mirror image of me & we are just so happy at finding each other. He is properly back at work this week so we find ourselves in a different rhythm but all very exciting.

I met his parents last night so that is sending out the message that we are very serious about each other & his mum was lovely in particular so it will be lovely to have a mum figure in my life again for sure. She will be a very good friend I’m sure.
Still no update on a completion date. Please do not use the company affiliated to Purple Bricks as they are terrible conveyancers. The buyers solicitors are awaiting 2 documents & that’s it & they can’t even attach them to a document. It’s very shoddy!
My cousin & I did some work on the bungalow on Saturday so it is nearly clear. Lots of rubbish to take out so we may need to hire a van again or pay someone to collect it & tip it. Will look around for those services in my area. Xx

Great to read your update, @Kikki21 - it sounds very sensible for your future together that you met Luke's Mum.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations re the completion date, though. We are in the same sort of limbo, and it's not pleasant.

I've been popping back hoping to get an update, and I will pop back from time to time to read posts, but will be taking a break from actively posting on TP for a while.

Thanks for all the support you've given me.

Best of luck with everything.

Love & best wishes,
Marcelle xx
