What is CHC and can it be applied to someone still at home....?

I attended a Spotlight Review into Social Care here in Devon this morning, as a Carer.

After the meeting someone from the panel came and said I ought to be looking at CHC - but I don't know what it is or how it works......

Can anyone help me?

In answer to your direct question - yes, CHC can be applied in a domestic setting if that is what the care plan says. Unlike a nursing home placement AA (attendance allowance) is not forfeited.

Now I should not be saying this but still. Do you have the name of that panel member and I wonder if he or she has any influence to help smooth the process? with love Geraldine
