I’m disabled having had a stroke affecting my left side and I’m also a right leg amputee so I’m confined to a wheelchair and have been for ten years, my partner of twenty years who is my carer has been diagnosed with early onset dementia at 55, I’m 52. I’m now struggling and have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety, I went to the doctor and he referred me to talking therapy, I haven’t heard back from them so rang up to Be told there’s a waiting list of between 8 to twelve months to be seen. I can’t wait that long and was wondering if there’s any help and one to one support offered by the Alzheimer’s society. I’m at the end of my tether and don’t know whichever way to turn

hello @Rencat

what a tough situation for the both of you

I'm guessing that you are aware of care needs assessments by your Local Authority Adult Services ... do contact them and make them aware of your joint situation

Admiral Nurses are there to help the carer of a person diagnosed with dementia .. even if there isn't a nurse local to you, they too have a helpline and may well be able to make suggestions and direct you to local resources
https://www.dementiauk.org/get-support/admiral-nursing/

I wonder whether the Stroke Association may have some advice for your particular situation
https://www.stroke.org.uk

and there's
https://www.youngdementiauk.org/find-support

sorry to bombard you with links but not to be of direct help
do keep posting as it does help to share experiences
