my beloved man passed away 3 weeks ago the end was ruthless but it came and he has peace, now i learn to recover from this wicked illness and hopefully remember him as he was before the illness destroyed him this site has been a lifeline

I'm so sorry to read of your loss. In time you will remember your man more and the illness less. I'm finding that now.

As you say, your man is now at peace. I hope you to find peace after the shared trauma of dementia.

My sincere condolences. I have found that, given time, while memories of the later dementia years do not exactly go away, they do at least fade in their intensity, allowing memories of happier times to grow stronger.
