Hi everyone,
Was recommended this would be a good place to go to.
I'm 28 and have lived with my grandparents in North London for about 10 years - Nan has Alzheimers and I've stepped into a carer role at the start of this year and grandad wasn't coping.

I'm classed as 'too old' to access young carer support and when I've gone along to general carer support groups, there's no one there around my age.

Are there any other 'older' young carers on here based in North London that would be interested in meeting up and hanging out?

I've spoken with Age UK, and the Alzheimer's Society at the Alzheimer's Show in London over the weekend and neither has anything established for this 'in-between' carer age group.

Thanks in advance!

Hullo and welcome to the forums @theartmonster. You will find younger carers here, there is a forum for younger people at https://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/forums/younger-people-with-dementia-and-their-carers.27/ which may help you. Good luck with setting up carers groups in your area, but bear in mind the guidance at https://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/threads/staying-safe-online.95625/#post-1324285. Keep posting, there are people here who can advise and support you and your grand parents at this hard time.
