Has there been any query regarding anything? From a sibling perhaps? Mum has a Financial Deputy who looks after her money (as appointed by the Court of Protection) and has a yearly visit. She has one this week actually but its just to check shes ok and being looked after properly and still living with me.

As @tryingmybest says visits are normal if you are a deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. Here is a link to someone posting a similar query in 2013 https://forum.alzheimers.org.uk/threads/opg-visitor.54591/ and a link to the government page about visits https://www.gov.uk/become-deputy/supervision-support-and-visits.

If you are an attorney on an LPA it might be worth checking whether the letter is genuine, maybe by phoning the OPG to check. Anybody's LPA information is freely available through the OPG so it is relatively easy to produce a scam letter.
