Lorazepin - impossible to cut tablets

How crazy is this. Lorazepin comes in 1mg tablet size, but the suggested dose is often half a tablet and when you try to cut the pill it just breaks apart. Everyone I have spoken too (doctors, memory unit) knows about this but does nothing to change things.
Surely the manufacture should produce a smaller dosage.

Yes using a pill cutter, but most of the time it is find the best bit which looks like half and chuck the other bits away.

It does come as a syrup, according to search engine, but the dose is 1mg in 1cc, so still a very small quantity. As always, ask a pharmacist, if local one no help try another. There must be a solution.
