Mum has just come out of hospital after bowel surgery. She has stoma bag and pad with nets. On taking her to answer a call of nature I found myself puzzled as to whether it was okay to have part of the pad under the stoma bag which looked uncomfortable or have part of pad covering the bag? Any ideas? The net by the way covers everything.

Good afternoon cake4tea,firstly I hope your mum is recovering well from her operation, sorry you have not had any replies yet, maybe bumping this post may generate some, hoping the hospital may be able to request that a storma nurse contact or visit to help and advise as soon as possible.

I'd say tuck the bag inside the pad. The pouch is waterproof ( Hopefully!)

I guess it depends how wet the pad gets- stoma and urine are not a good mix BUT the stoma itself should be away from the pad, contained within the pouch flange
