Have been buying these and they were costing a fortune ,only to be told we should have been gettign them for free
Rang the DR ,he said he will gladly write a regular prescription BUT he needs a name to find them on the system ?!?
We have been buying Tena lady or Aways but these are not on the system
If anyone is getting free NHS pads ,would you mind checking what the name is on the packaging please?
~Thanks :)

Hi SkiTTish

You need to get in touch with the continence advisor for your area. The GP can refer you, or the social worker.

The advisor will visit, and discuss what is needed -- there are different sizes and absorbancies -- and will arrange for a supply. She should leave you a pack to be going on with, and thereafter they come via a delivery firm.

Most areas will only supply pads and net pants, but if your mum is happy with those, that's OK. Some people prefer pull-up pants, but usually you have to buy your own.

Lionel has his supplied to the care home, via the local continence nurse.

Both the ladies and mens pads and pull-ups are Tena.
This has been the case in several of the homes we have visited. Hope this helps.

When I was having to get incontenence pads for Rupert, his CPN arranged for us to get pads called Euronform from our local hospital. There were day time ones and night time ones. So if your mother has a cpn perhaps she can arrange this for you.
